Last week we visited Forest Hills Eastern Middle & High School to check out the new Industrial Arts Addition. The addition features two new large classrooms and will provide much-needed additional space for the school's industrial arts center.
The project will be complete in early spring 2021. Both classrooms will be finished with painted exposed block walls and sealed concrete floors.
This new 5,580 sf art wing includes an industrial arts space with brand new wood shop, dust collector and paint booth. A second art studio features a kiln room and plenty of storage space.
This project is being led by Project Superintendent, Jane Leahy, who has been keeping the project on track amidst the pandemic. This is the second project Jane has managed in Forest Hills (she also oversaw the renovations at Forest Hills Eastern this past summer).
Current work on site
Currently, masons are finishing up the block walls and getting ready to start brick work. The electrician and plumber are working along with the masons to install their embeds in the block walls. Next up will be structural steel and roof decking.
