As construction continues at the new Forest Hills Eastern baseball and softball turf fields, the crews have been pulling some enormous rocks from the dirt. Captured in the photos below, there have been some rocks as big as 8-feet in diameter.
Both fields are prepped and almost ready for stone base before the actual turf goes down. In the second photo down on the left, the concrete crew is getting set-up to pour the first footings for the building that will be a concessions, toilet, and storage building for future games and events.
In the photos below you will see the auxiliary field at Forest Hills Northern prepped and ready for turf to be installed. The construction team performed a string test yesterday to verify that the field is ready for the turf to be laid. Foundations are complete for the toilet and concessions building, and the walls will be going up in the next couple of weeks.
